Clinical Psychologist
I am a BPS and HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London in 2007 and went on to obtain my Post Graduate Diploma in Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychology in 2011. I have 19 years experience of working within mental health settings, including within an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), an outpatient Child Development Centre (based at Addenbrookes hospital) and I have worked within specialist Learning Disability (LD) and Autism Spectrum (ASD) services supporting children and families. My roles included contributing to ASD/ LD diagnostic clinics, neuropsychological assessment, talk therapy and behavioural interventions, parenting support, parent/ child attachment work and providing supervision and training to colleagues. More recently I have been part of the Hey!cambridge Social Enterprise project which offers psychological services to children within schools. My role involved working with children, parents and teachers within schools and supervising a team of Clinical Psychologists. I moved into the private sector 4 years ago and now work with children, teens, young adults and parents who are experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties. I also offer cognitive assessments and adapted therapies for children with LD and ASD. Recently I have undertaken additional training in Perinatal Mental Health at The Tavistock Clinic and have a supervisory role within a Family Nurse Partnership supporting new parents.
My approach

I offer evidence-based (researched and proven) approaches and tailored individualised support in a relaxed, friendly and quiet setting. I work collaboratively with my clients and am open about what may be contributing to any difficulties and what might help, so that the client is kept informed at every step. My role is to empower people to learn strategies to help themselves and lead the lives they wish to live. My preferred therapeutic approaches are CBT and ACT, which both have a ‘here and now’ focus and help clients gain a better understanding of their difficulties and practical tools to help them feel better. I greatly enjoy my work and feel privileged to be able to support people towards better psychological health and achievement of their goals. My comfortable clinic room is on the ground floor, with easy parking.
